It's not racist when it's simply true.  Where have all the hacks originated and who are the predominant users?  12-15 year olds from the european continent.

This has gone off track though as the original complaint (EMF shadows) have already been addressed and solved by the PS team.  Talking about hacks and "who said what" is just childish.  blablablabla should just crawl into a hole and die and leave the rest of us legitimate players alone.

QuoteHey Neth, try viewing the video they've made of the vision modes in PS.  You'll clearly see they've already taken this into account.

I saw it but must have missed the moment when Mic talked about ghosting. Did he mention it?

QuoteTypical euro garbage about American ignorance.  People make mistakes, big whoop.

Notice that Spekkio used the dirty attack first against me.

Although I see no logical explanation for this, I have to agree that there's something wrong with many Europeans in this game. Perhaps its because not many people from States play this game online, so the percentage of retards is also lower.
I may be wrong but as I remember people in PT were much more friendly and were not acting as morons so many times.

Neth, if you watch the video...meaning actually watch it, you will notice when the spy doesn't have anything active, he's INVISIBLE.  Check it out again.

"all the hacks" is not a percentage. ALL of them have originated in the european player base.  I'm not attacking the respectable players and community members in europe, there are many, but you yourself admit there's no logical explanation and there's something wrong.  There are retards everywhere sure, but all the hacks come from your neck of the woods.

Again, the ghosting issue ISN'T AN ISSUE in PS, it's already confirmed.

Sorry if this isn't 'friendly' enough for you but I'm a type of person that says what he's thinking and doesn't hide behind niceties.  It's also, usually, the truth.

Some people haven't gotten that yet.....

"Also notice the electrically inactive spy: electrically inactive spies are completely invisible under EMF."

From the video that you watched.

Notice however, the added catch: Electically inactive spies now silhouette against electically active objects.

@Mic

Did you test it on very different resolutions ?

Here is another test.
Same method as before, 16 frames averaged for each setting and then compared using the same masking pattern.

Image 1: 800x600 @ normal post
Image 2: 1600x1200 @ high post
Image 3: comparison with a striped mask

Two very different resolutions and post settings

And again, only the white part is affected, and the blue portion is virtually the same.

Also, here is an (exaggerated) difference image between the two:

White means large change between the two, and black means no change between the two.

You're right...I mistakingly thought that a country that is racially caucasian, borders the Mediterranean, and is typically politically lumped in with the Eastern European region was part of Europe. Sue me.

I'll tell you what: one day when you get out of school and start actually working, I'll ask you to point out Nebraska on a map. Writing, on the other hand, never goes away.
QuoteSo a few hours ago it mattered and now it doesn't? So let me again tell you why it matters:
It never mattered. That's why I never answered your question. The point is that something doesn't automatically become a bug because you think it's unbalanced.

Your original statement was that EMF ghosting was a bug. When multiple people called you out on it, you attempted to divert this thread to a balance discussion. The two are not related.

You know, if you spent half the time trying to think of a way around EMF ghosting instead of whining on here, you might realize why the game is so fun.
QuoteNeth, if you watch the video...meaning actually watch it, you will notice when the spy doesn't have anything active, he's INVISIBLE.  Check it out again.
We'll see if/when the game is released, but the same things that allow the spies to sneak more easily often allow them not to sneak more easily. Case in point: EMF ghosting is an often-used anti-aggro technique to see through smoke clouds and defend yourself. Meanwhile, the only time EMF ghosting ever really impeded sneaking was the ceiling of Museum. In the scheme of things, changing EMF ghosting is going to have a minimal effect on sneaking around because good mercs are constantly cycling visions anyway.

Like MT, I'd really rather have seen the range of this vision reduced. Moving mercs = vulnerable mercs, but you can also defend against aggro. That, and a small 1 secondish "adjustment" phase where the screen is all red/blue when you switch visions so you can't sit there and cycle through all 3 constantly and instantly pick up a spy.
QuoteNotice however, the added catch: Electically inactive spies now silhouette against electically active objects
This isn't new. I've caught many a spy perched next to the bulldozer in Factory because the bulldozer lights up on EMF.

Spies use the same semitransparent shader that almost every other transparent surface uses.
A shader is a shader is a shader. It has input conditions and output colors, resolution doesn't affect the output colors.

No, it is not.

I explained it in my last post, not gonna do this again.

Lochang, did you forget that Europe is not one big country? I think you did. Just because the eastern part of Europe (the former USSR part) is one big pile of shit, Europe in general doesn't suck ballz.
