Personally I really dislike EMF ghosting. EMF isn't meant for seeing spies who dont have vision/gun out, IMO.

agreed. EMF ghosting is a bug and should be treated as such.
I approve of this
It's definitely not a bug. You are entitled to not like it, but to call it a bug is an extreme stretch. Also, someone should let you in on the secret that one's ability to EMF ghost has nothing to do with the graphics settings.

K, now that i thougt of it second time...
Spekkio is right - the human body has a elecromagnetic (or something) field of its own, so it sould be visible - maybe even more than it is now, really...

MT's purpose: see moving objects
EMF's purpose: see objects with electromagnetic fields.

While I dont know the exact amount of EMF a human body generates, I haven't seen any other object in the game that makes that doesnt use electricity and still is barely visible.

My point is that in a room made out of wood, you wouldnt be able to navigate with EMF.

lol you seem to know nothing about physics XD
the whole emf thingy is total bullshit

I know that EMF in the form in PT and CT isnt possible...

Honestly, I don't really care much about physics or realism in general for this game. I mean, lets face it, the game itself doesn't make much sense... you've got spies with no lethal weaponry, who apparently aren't supposed to kill, yet they're allowed to snap necks.

Yea, that's odd, but still, the spies shouldn't be allowed to carry lethal weaponss for gameplay reasons

Fitty_cent_rappa

make the MT system like the kind that is used in double agent where youd have to move really slowly for it to have a good range and if u move too quickly the range is hella demoted. and make it have a battery so they dont keep it on foreva

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

NO! the mt will be the one from PT, just with fixed shadow inversion.

Tidenburg

Um, for all you wondering the human body should actually be able to be seen quite easily using EMF, equipment like EM Sensors are used to detect people underneath rubble in collapses and such. However it shouldn't be in the game. Its another one of those Gameplay > Realism.

Succubus Dryad Of The Undying Comet

Just say the spies suit makes them undetectable :P

afaik it is possible, but not really easy - it needs quite powerful hardware to be done

Tidenburg

Actually there is a certain amount of electromagnetism everywhere. If objects didn't have electromagnetism then we would simply all fall through the planet, this means that when there are different amounts of the energy then the contrast should be visible in EMF vision, say for example, that a spy is in between a machine and a merc. The spy has a lower EM field than the machine so there should be a dark shadow where the soy is standing. Does that make sense to you?

Exactly, while Tidenburg may be right. How sensitive can a portable EMF scanner in a helmet really be? Answer: Anything we want.
