I sort of accept/partly appreciate what they did with the graphics. I don't think I would be happy with another cell-shade game like Wind Waker where link looks awkward. Luckily they keep that for the DS zelda's. It's nice to see a mixture of Adult link from Ocarina of Time with cell-shade. Though I loved the dark and grim setting of Twilight Princess, as it reminded me of Majora's Mask which was awesome.

Kudos for Nintendo for delivering a show of win. There was only 1 game I had no interrest in compared to Microsoft or Ubisoft where I didn't care for 90% of the show.

Btw Farley, laughing out loud on your signature. That kid really has no clue!

"Games are made for ADD kids instead of adults these days."

It's kind of always been like that. Even if you go back to old school arcade games like Missile Command and Gallager, the games are twitchy games designed with undue difficulty to eat the pocket change of teenagers.

I find it funny that you haven't mentioned a single original title on your list. THAT's the big problem with games right now.

"There's never been a disappointing Zelda"

Windwaker and Majora's Mask are both piles of shit, and Adventures of Link is borderline.

Kinectimals look SOO cute. I'm ashamed to say I want it. ;D

Wrong.

Majora was better than Ocarina but Ocarina came first so it's considered the best 3D Zelda.  Wind waker was great even though it's probably the weakest in the series.

So, I guess what you're saying is that they are piles of shit compared to other games in the series?  Even though some are better than others none have ever been as bad as the demo for the new one looked.  I doubt Nintendo would let it stoop to that level, and I have confidence that it actually plays well in normal conditions.  But only time will tell right?

Nintendo was great today.  Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, etc.  Still iffy on Zelda, iffy on Goldeneye, but both could be great.

Kind of dissapointed about the lack of star fox and F-Zero.

And about my signature.  The funny thing about my sig is that the day after I added that quote (from the Ubi forums lawl), the same guy registered here and posted a thread.  I showed him the quote and he got all mad iirc.  Haven't seen him since.  Just a terrible quote and, if I can help it, he'll never be able to take it back.

Click the link below my sig for some lawls.

I'm fairly certain that my opinion on the quality of a game cannot be "wrong" or "right."

The games are terrible by any gaming standards, and they are a disgrace to what was, up to that point, a nearly flawless series of games. Are you honestly defending a game where you spend 95% of your time SAILING ON OPEN OCEAN??? The three aforementioned titles are the "Convictions" of the Zelda series...the developers wanted to try something different, and rather than create an entirely new game dedicated to sailing around for hours on end or playing dress-up, they put Zelda on the title.

Twilight Princess is hands down the best 3-D Zelda, and is what OOT should have been. I don't care if Ocarina came first; all it did in regards to 3D gameplay was rip off SMB 64 and modify it to fit the Zelda universe. Hardly revolutionary. The game was also ridiculously easy when it came to the action part, and the puzzles weren't all that difficult, either. It was an overall step down from A Link to the Past.

Nintendo will be great when it has games worth playing other than Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby, etc.

I mean jeez, I know being stuck on sequels is not unique to Nintendo but at least the other companies aren't making sequels of games that were first released in the 80's.

I know dude. I was just saying that I really disagree with your opinion.

Yeah I'm defending it.  If by defending you mean saying it's the worst in the series but is still a good game.  I know you're exaggerating for effect with the 95% bit, but I would say it's exaggeration at 60%.  And even then, that's just navigation.  Think of it as a break time from the game.  Like a hub world.  I remember getting a little tired of boating around all the time but truth be told I've already gotten tired of riding my horse in RDR all the time or driving a car in GTA.  Navigation is navigation.  It gets you from one gameplay segment to the next.

Twilight Princess is hands down the best 3-D Zelda, and is what OOT should have been. I don't care if Ocarina came first; all it did in regards to 3D gameplay was rip off SMB 64 and modify it to fit the Zelda universe. Hardly revolutionary. I'd definitely put Twilight up there but I can't follow your argument.  One of the reasons twilight was awesome for me was how similar it was to Ocarina.  It was actually nostalgic.  And actually the puzzles were easier in Twilight than probably most of the games in the series.

The only thing that was challenging for me in Twilight was battling Ganondorf at the end (but I eventually figured out his patterns and can rape him now) and the endless battle dungeon (and that's only about endurance).  Sure, some puzzles gave me trouble in the water temple but overall the game was pretty darn easy.  Apparently there will be a couple difficulty modes in the next one.

I follow you here, but Nintendo is finding ways to refresh its old franchises without pissing off the core fanbase.  Take Galaxy or the new Metroid (which looks awesome) for example.  At least we can all respect that.

But yeah I agree that they should be establishing new franchises.  The new Epic Mickey looks kind of cool but that's not even their character lol

I liked MM. It had interesting ideas.

I personally think the new Recon looks terrible.  They've Conviction'd it.  Amp up the action, dial down the strategy, amp up the fancy effects, dial down the realism.

No surprise here.

comicsserg

well maybe you right i hope it would be without drm, still I want to play it and test it

Farley4Fan

It wouldn't be right if I didn't give it a chance but I doubt it can be a good game for me.  Other people may enjoy it though.  More power to them.  It's just that I played the crap out of the old Ghost Recon games and they've completely 180'd me.  It's what they did with splinter cell all over again.  I feel betrayed but what can you do?  I'll give it a rent and if it's as I suspect I'll take it back and never talk about it again.

comicsserg

yea they really ruined splinter cell

Bubbaganoosh

That's the other thing, Spekkio nailed it, there is no original thought anymore.
It's like the movie industry. Those fuckin idiots haven't come up with anything original
in years. Games it's much worse because they resurrect a story line that should have been
dumped three games ago and butcher it just to make a game. Alot of us are to blame
because we buy the game. Sure it sucks and we're disappointed but we still bought the game.
So they sell alot of copies, label it a success and do it again.

Well it made me lol.

Gawain

the new ghost recon sure looks like fun. but i doubt they deliver a worthwhile pc multiplayer...

Farley4Fan

The sneaking looked bad.  It was all scripted nonsense.  Like an interactive movie.  To me the shooting looked terrible.  Switching to a first person viewpoint where you can see your weapon is just annoying and distracting.  Then they put in omgwtf robots.  I know it's in the futurez but they didn't have to add something that ridiculous.  Rocket packs on your back?  That's actually kind of cool.  Cloaking ability?  Meh, they are ghosts so it's not a terrible idea.

So, instead of being a tactical shooter it's now more reminiscent of COD: Future Warfare - but with a third person view.  I got the vibe of COD with all the scripted moments designed to make you feel cool.  I guess I could enjoy it if I think of it like that but it would be a bitter taste knowing it's a ghost recon/"Tom Clancy" game.
